Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Manufacturing Team Leader for the production of bespoke signage and exhibition builds in Newtownabbey. The role combines hands-on fabrication with leadership of the workshop team, coordinating CNC machining, laser cutting, electrical assembly and quality checks.

You will read drawings, integrate LED lighting and low-voltage wiring, and support maintenance while ensuring a safe, efficient workflow on site.

Qualifications

• Hands-on manufacturing experience in a production environment.
• Practical electrical or electromechanical skills including LED systems.
• Experience with CNC machinery and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture bespoke signage, displays and exhibition builds.
• Lead and support the workshop team across machining, fabrication, electrical assembly and paint.
• Operate and set up CNC machinery and laser cutting equipment.
• Integrate LED lighting, drivers and low-voltage wiring into finished products.
• Read technical drawings and diagnose manufacturing issues.
• Carry out quality checks, electrical fault-finding and pre-dispatch testing.
• Support machinery maintenance and maintain a safe, organized workshop.

On offer is the opportunity to join a specialist manufacturing business where you will combine your practical skills with workshop leadership, helping turn creative designs into high-quality finished products.

This company manufactures bespoke signage, illuminated displays, exhibition builds and fabricated features.

Their project-driven work offers plenty of variety, combining CNC machining, laser cutting, fabrication, electrical integration and assembly.

In this role, you will work alongside the manufacturing team, coordinating the day-to-day flow of work in line with priorities set by the Production Manager.

You will remain actively involved in manufacturing, from operating CNC and laser equipment to assembling displays and wiring LED lighting, drivers and power supplies.

You will also support colleagues with practical problem-solving, check quality throughout each build and carry out final testing before dispatch.

This is a workshop-floor position suited to someone who enjoys picking up tools, sharing their knowledge and taking pride in the finished product.

This role would suit an experienced signage manufacturer with practical electrical skills and experience leading, supervising or mentoring others, looking to take responsibility for delivering varied bespoke projects.

The Role:

• Working hands-on to manufacture bespoke signage, displays and exhibition builds
