Job summary

apetito UK is seeking a Nights Meals Supervisor to lead the production line on nights (Sunday–Thursday, 22:00–06:00). The role offers a salary of £39,630 plus shift allowance, bonus and benefits.

You will drive quality, safety and performance across the team, develop staff and deliver on production targets with a focus on right-first-time results. The role involves coordinating with Production, Quality, Engineering and NPD, fostering teamwork, continuous improvement and compliance with BRC

Qualifications

• Experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Experience working in a team to shared goals and targets.
• Confident with numbers and able to calculate line performance and ingredient weights.
• Ability to learn new software (SAP and Excel) and communicate decisions to the team.
• Desirable: previous team leadership and labour planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead your team on the production line to meet quality, productivity and plan attainment targets.
• Reduce waste and material giveaway through monitoring, control and training.
• Ensure SAP and production documentation is completed accurately and on time.
• Drive continuous improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and housekeeping.
• Champion Health & Safety and participate in audits.
• Support 5S, allergen control and a clean-as-you-go culture.
• Lead, motivate and develop team members through coaching and meetings.
• Manage labour resources to achieve targets.
• Promote communication and adherence to policies.
• Support new product trials and environmental initiatives.
• Complete training and develop departmental processes.
• Cover Shift Managers’ role during absences.

This is a hands-on role where you'll motivate and develop your team to achieve production targets, maintain outstanding food quality and drive continuous improvement.

Working closely with colleagues across Production, Quality, Engineering and NPD you'll ensure operations run smoothly, efficiently and safely while promoting a culture of teamwork and accountability.

• Lead your team to deliver products right first time, meeting quality, productivity and plan attainment targets.

• Lead, motivate and develop team members through training, coaching, one-to-ones and return-to-work meetings.
• Manage labour resources effectively to achieve operational performance targets.
• Promote clear communication, teamwork and adherence to company policies and values.
• Support new product trials, improvement projects and environmental initiatives.
• Complete relevant training and contribute to the ongoing development of departmental processes and performance
• Cover the Shift Managers’ role during any absences.

Essential

• Experience in a production/ manufacturing environment
• Experience working in a team to shared goals and targets
• Have a Can-Do attitude
• Be passionate, motivated and willing to learn.
• Be able to make quick, reasoned decisions and then communicate these out to the team.
• Confidence with computers - training will be provided in specific software such as SAP and Microsoft Excel, but a basic familiarity is necessary.
• Feel comfortable with numbers, this role will require calculating how far ahead/behind a line is, how many labour hours were used during a production run, and the weight of ingredients remaining for a production run.

Desirable

• Previous experience leading & supporting a team.
• An understanding of a production line operation, preferably experience running one.
• Experience planning labour
