Job Description:

We are seeking a Manufacturing/Repair Engineer - Implementation to join the Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Organisation in Derby. This role involves expanding our repair team to enhance repair capabilities and increase the number of repaired parts in our products. At Rolls-Royce, we innovate to deliver the best jet engines worldwide, powering over 35 types of commercial aircraft with more than 13,000 engines in service globally.

The MRO business is global, and this role offers the opportunity to collaborate with various MRO bases worldwide to improve repair capabilities and support operational excellence. Responsibilities include managing technical relationships with repair suppliers, guiding repair industrialization, ensuring quality through the FAIR process, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Owning the technical/engineering relationship for repair suppliers
  2. Managing supplier relationships and implementing repair capabilities
  3. Providing technical guidance for repair quality and industrialization
  4. Championing zero defects and process improvements
  5. Representing manufacturing engineering in sourcing decisions
  6. Performing root cause analysis and problem solving
Qualifications and experience:
  • Degree or equivalent in Engineering or related discipline
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio; PowerBI is a plus
  • Good communication skills across diverse teams and levels
  • Ability to plan and lead projects
  • Basic knowledge of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes
Desirable skills:
  • Knowledge of FAIR process, AS9102, AS13100, RM13003
  • Experience with Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)
  • Data analysis or programming experience
  • Understanding of Part 145 regulations
