A Manufacturing Quality Engineer is required for a world-leading engineering company based in the UK.

Location: Bath
Salary: £40k-£43k
As the successful Manufacturing Quality Engineer, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Devise and own specific elements of the quality improvement road map. Support the implementation and maintenance of systems and procedures to ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO9001 Quality systems and project-specific requirements.
- Lead the implementation of focused Quality Improvement Programmes to achieve year-on-year QCD improvements, utilizing KPI analysis, Pareto, FMEA, and other tools.
- Record and generate supplier quality performance metrics for review by senior management.
- Support the implementation and delivery of Advanced Production Quality Plans for New Product Introduction.
- Review and map processes; support robust process introduction using techniques such as PFMEA and control plans.
- Prepare and submit Quality Approval documentation (FAI and PPAP) to customers.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Programme Management on supplier selection for new products and services.
- Approve new products and services following company procedures.
- Manage activities related to non-conforming product containment, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.
- Ensure the supply chain's full compliance with the QMS.
- Utilize R&R studies and SPC for ongoing process improvements.
- Support design reviews and cost estimation activities as needed.
- Assist with off-site visits and manufacturing activities, both UK and overseas.
- Deliver annual objectives set by the functional manager.
- Supervise subcontract Manufacturing Engineering activities and Central Inspection priorities.
- Manage gauge calibration processes.
Knowledge & Ability Required
- Minimum HNC/Degree in Engineering or Business-related discipline (or equivalent).
- Experience in manufacturing quality or supply chain quality environments, preferably in high-volume manufacturing.
- Experience with Quality Improvement programmes, Pareto, PFMEA, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience with APQP tools and techniques.
- Proficiency in constructing and using PFMEA, Control Plans, and FAI Reports.
- Extensive experience with statistical analysis, process capability, and problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Why, 6 Sigma).
- Strong knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 standards.
- Team player with initiative and positive attitude, capable of influencing others.
- Ability to work efficiently in a multi-project environment.
- Ability to obtain SC clearance.
The ideal candidate will also have or develop:
- Knowledge of technology development, new product development, and NPI projects.
- Familiarity with US ITAR and UK export legislation in multinational projects.
- Experience with industrial MRP, MRP-II, or ERP tools, such as Syteline.
