Job summary

British Engines in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Project Manager to oversee from customer order through manufacture, delivery and close-out. You will coordinate purchasing, suppliers, and internal teams, ensuring contractual requirements and delivery dates are met.

You will review specifications, maintain project plans, monitor costs and margins, and lead meetings and site visits as required. A relevant engineering degree is preferred, with willingness to travel and uphold safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in project planning and coordination within manufacturing.
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Understanding of machine-shop environments and manufacturing processes.
• Engineering degree preferred or time-served machining experience.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage and expedite projects from order to close-out, ensuring delivery and outputs.
• Coordinate purchasing, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Maintain project plans, meetings, progress reports and ERP data.
• Monitor costs, budgets, forecasts, margins and report variances.
• Lead project meetings, site visits, and variation orders where needed.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
