Job summary

MBDA is recruiting a Project Manager to lead complex manufacturing projects in a dynamic team in Stevenage. The role offers hybrid working (2–3 days on-site) with a salary circa £50,000, plus a company bonus and pension contributions.

You will manage fixed-cost programmes in a matrix environment, coordinate with internal teams and external partners, and drive risk-aware, on-time delivery while developing your career within a premier defence organisation.

Qualifications

• Accomplished Project Manager with a proven track record in fixed-cost programmes within a matrix organisation.
• Able to operate in a matrix/cross-functional environment, interfacing with customers and suppliers and briefing senior management.
• Experience managing project scope, deviations and changes and their impact on the overall project.
• Detail-oriented with ability to identify risks and trends in cost, schedule and quality data.
• Pro-active, able to prioritise objectives and manage day-to-day tactical actions.
• Construct and maintain project plans; familiar with Primavera or Microsoft Project.
• Experience compiling bids and estimates with design/engineering on new products.
• Able to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation.
• Experience in engineering or production environments preferred.

Job description

An opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join a dynamic and forward thinking manufacturing team to deliver complex manufacturing projects.

Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on experience

Location: Stevenage

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

What we're looking for from you:

• Accomplished Project Manager with a proven track record in the delivery of fixed cost programmes, within a matrix organisation.
• Able to operate effectively in a matrix or cross functional environment, interfacing and influencing customers and suppliers as well as briefing to senior management level.
• Experience of management of project scope, identifying deviations and negotiation of changes and their impact on the overall project.
• An eye for detail, able to identify risks and opportunity trends within in cost, schedule and quality data and able formulate plans in order to mitigate risk and deliver opportunities.
• Enthusiastic and pro-active individual who can prioritise objectives as well as managing the day-to-day tactical actions.
• Able to construct and maintain project plans and familiar with project planning software such as Primavera or Microsoft Project.
• Experience in the compilation of bid and estimates based on previous products or by working with design and engineering teams on new product definitions.
• Able to work collaboratively with stakeholders throughout the organisation.
• Experience within an engineering or production environment would be of preference.
