Working in Manufacturing at JLR, you'll be the hands-on expert who brings innovation to life. You'll collaborate with a team of expert technicians and problem-solvers and use cutting-edge tools, facilities, and processes engineered together to build era-defining vehicles that people across the world know and love. Be at the forefront of innovation responsible for the process design, development and production support of complete powertrain machining (ICE & EV) production facilities globally, that meet our quality, volume and cost goals whilst delivering operational excellence.

What To Expect

In this role, no two tasks are the same. With lots of projects and relationships to build with people across the business and beyond, it's a challenge that will help your career grow within an iconic organisation. Here's what to expect:

  • Procurement and management of multiple machine tools & assembly systems covering a wide range of processes
  • Supporting daily production issues to help achieve operational metrics
  • Development of standardised process strategies and procedures for replication within Global Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering
  • Identifying and driving robust resolution of product design manufacturing feasibility & manufacturing process issues
  • Introducing innovative new technologies into our manufacturing processes to improve safety, productivity, quality & cost metrics
  • Driving continuous improvements in investment efficiency, process stability and robustness, flexibility & manufacturing cost per unit within and between powertrain programs (ICE/EV)
  • Maintaining process documentation to comply with international quality standards and IATF requirements

What You'll Need

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you'll need to have to help you succeed here, including:

  • Process engineering experience within current manufacturing arena - including experience in quality process control with tools such as PFMEA, Control Planning, Process Audits and Critical Characteristic Cascade
  • Good IT skills and awareness of CATIA V5 or Alternative Model software and Byteworx's
  • Strong proven problem-solving skills with the ability to lead problem solving teams
  • A good understanding of engineering including the ability to review engineering drawings and interpret / use CAD
  • Experience and understanding of both inline testing and audit requirements
