Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist to drive manufacturing excellence through continuous improvement and digital innovation in a world-class environment near Newcastle upon Tyne. You will collaborate with Production, Quality, Planning, and Supply Chain to enhance efficiency, reporting, and digitalisation of operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, oil and gas, or production environment.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles and production support activities.
• Experience driving continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
• Proven experience conducting root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
• Hands-on experience developing dashboards using Microsoft Power BI.
• Experience managing and analysing manufacturing data and operational KPIs.
• Knowledge of quality management systems and manufacturing process controls.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions.

Responsibilities

• Providing engineering support to manufacturing and operational teams to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.
• Investigating production issues and implementing solutions to minimise downtime and improve workflow performance.
• Supporting the development and implementation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and best practices.
• Leading and supporting Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
• Analyzing production data, identifying trends and bottlenecks, and implementing corrective actions to improve performance.
• Managing Work in Progress (WIP) visibility and supporting production planning activities.
• Developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards, automated reports, and operational performance metrics.
• Supporting manufacturing digitalisation projects through Power Automate, Excel VBA, and process automation solutions.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering / Industrial Engineering
