Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a production operator to manufacture materials to customer specifications and to operate and monitor extrusion machinery. You will accurately record production data and material usage while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Hours follow a weekly rotating pattern across day and night shifts with pay starting at £13.00 per hour and potential uplift beyond £14.00 per hour based on performance.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English (reading, writing, and basic numeracy).
• Able to interpret detailed work instructions, batch cards, and quality documentation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Willingness and ability to be trained on extrusion and ancillary equipment.
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery and associated equipment according to defined procedures.
• Maintain machine run rates to maximise efficiencies.
• Monitor and verify product quality throughout the production process.
• Ensure final product meets all required quality specifications.
• Perform machine cleanouts and maintenance of equipment and ancillary systems.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
• Record daily production activities and relevant process data accurately.
• Report on production metrics including output, downtime, changeovers, and other key data.
