Job description

Our client is a market-leading SME based in Surrey and Europe, specializing in design and manufacturing.

This role reports to the Manufacturing Director, with key contacts in Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering, Automation, and Quality Departments.

The position is a 40-hour week (flexi-time) located on-site in the Staines area.

Overall Job Purpose

This is a unique opportunity to join an innovative team. As part of the Manufacturing Team, you will:

  • Carry out various manufacturing operations related to assembly, testing, finishing, and calibration of company products following standard work instructions.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities

As part of the Quality Team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing all assembly operations, including hand soldering.
  • Conducting in-process inspection and testing.
  • Executing sealing and finishing operations.
  • Performing calibration operations.
  • Fault finding at the sub-assembly level on RMAs and production test failures.
  • Supporting Skills Matrix qualification and cross-training of Manufacturing Operatives.
  • Championing 5S and Standard Work to maintain and improve product quality and factory productivity.
  • Supporting internal management system audits (ISO 9001 / 14001).
  • Promoting continuous improvement in product quality and factory productivity.
  • Supporting prototype builds and special projects.
  • Assisting with New Product Introduction.
  • Performing any reasonable manufacturing tasks, including Store & Logistics, PCBA, and Main Production.
  • Supporting automated printed circuit board assembly.
  • Assisting with materials handling and storage, including cycle counting.
Skills, Ability, and Experience (Essential)
  • HND level 5 or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in a technical or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Solid numerical literacy and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
