Job summary

Recruit 12 Limited are supporting a globally recognised engineering and manufacturing organisation to recruit an experienced Manufacturing Manager for their Wellingborough site. You will lead a small team of Manufacturing Engineers and Maintenance Technicians, while managing external contractors and delivering CAPEX projects.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in Manufacturing Engineering or Manufacturing Management.
• Experience leading engineering and maintenance teams.
• CAPEX project delivery experience.
• Lean Manufacturing, 5S and Continuous Improvement experience.
• Experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, off-highway or advanced manufacturing environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers and Maintenance Technicians.
• Manage external contractors and engineering suppliers.
• Take responsibility for Manufacturing Engineering activities across the site.
• Drive continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing, 5S and structured problem solving.
• Lead CAPEX projects from initial business case through to installation and commissioning.
• Improve manufacturing processes, equipment performance and operational efficiency.
• Oversee preventative maintenance and equipment reliability activities.
• Support the introduction of new products, equipment and manufacturing technologies.
• Lead root cause investigations and implement effective corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, quality standards and engineering best practice.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing procedures, documentation and work instructions.
• Monitor engineering KPIs and identify opportunities to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
• Build strong relationships with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, suppliers and contractors.
• Support the Plant Manager in delivering wider operational and strategic objectives.

Manufacturing Manager

Monday - Thursday: 7:45am - 4:45pm

Friday: 7:45am - 12:00pm

We are currently supporting a globally recognised engineering and manufacturing organisation in the recruitment of an experienced Manufacturing Manager to join their Wellingborough facility. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Engineering Manager to take ownership of the Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance functions across a specialist manufacturing site. You will lead a small team of Manufacturing Engineers and Maintenance Technicians, while also managing external contractors, delivering CAPEX projects and driving continuous improvement across the facility.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will play a key role in improving manufacturing performance, equipment reliability, safety, quality and operational efficiency. This is a hands-on leadership position suited to someone who enjoys being close to the operation, developing engineering teams and delivering tangible improvements within a manufacturing environment.

• Manage external contractors and engineering suppliers.

About You

You will ideally have:

• Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Electrical Engineering.
• Previous experience in a Manufacturing Engineering or Manufacturing Management role.
• Proven experience managing engineering and/or maintenance teams.
• Strong people leadership and development skills.
• Experience delivering CAPEX projects from concept through to implementation.
• Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S and Continuous Improvement.
• Experience with manufacturing quality tools including FMEA, PFMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA and Root Cause Analysis.
• Experience within automotive, commercial vehicle, off-highway or advanced manufacturing environments.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
