Manufacturing Manager

Garstang, Lancashire | £40,000-£45,000 | Days | Permanent

Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm | Friday 7:30am-12:30pm

My client is looking for a Manufacturing Manager to lead its production department at Garstang. This is a strong opportunity for an established manufacturing manager or an ambitious Production Supervisor/Team Leader ready to step up into greater responsibility.

You don't need specific industry experience. What's more important is your ability to lead people, manage production effectively and identify practical improvements within a manufacturing environment. You'll receive plenty of support while learning their specialist processes, with genuine scope to develop into broader operational leadership over time.

This will be a highly supported role inside the first 12 months, developing knowledge of the products, processes and getting up to speed with the specific intricacies of the industry. You will have 4 key mentors early in your career here including the MD, Production Director, Assistant Production Director and Deputy Technical Manager - all very experienced and eager to see this role succeed.

The Role

You’ll take day-to-day responsibility for the performance of production, leading an experienced and long-serving workforce while balancing production, people, quality and safety.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading, supporting and developing the production team.


• Managing staffing, rotas, overtime, attendance and performance.


• Delivering production targets while maintaining quality and safety standards.


• Monitoring KPIs and using manufacturing data to improve performance.


• Identifying bottlenecks and resolving day-to-day production issues.


• Driving continuous improvement, productivity and right-first-time performance.


• Working closely with other departments and the senior management team.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll have supervisory or management experience within a manufacturing or production environment, with the confidence to lead people and take ownership of day-to-day operational performance.

You’ll also bring strong organisational and problem-solving skills, a good understanding of manufacturing KPIs, quality and health & safety, and the ability to engage an experienced workforce while constructively challenging how things are done.
