Job summary

Sunray Engineering is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead our production operations in Ashford, Kent. You will drive safety, quality, productivity, and people development to meet targets while fostering continuous improvement.

The role requires a degree in Manufacturing or Engineering, strong Lean and KPI experience, and a proven ability to manage budgets and teams. ISO experience and ERP/MRP familiarity are desirable.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Significant management experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proven leadership experience developing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience managing budgets, KPIs and performance.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP and ISO-certified environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Develop and motivate high-performing production teams.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and improve KPIs including OEE, productivity, quality, and cost performance.
  • Manage manufacturing budgets and operational resources.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to optimise performance and minimise downtime.

Manufacturing Manager Location: Ashford, Kent, United Kingdom Contract: Full Time, Permanent

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead our production operations and drive performance across safety, quality, productivity, and people development. You will be responsible for ensuring manufacturing targets are achieved efficiently and safely while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Develop and motivate high-performing production teams.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and improve KPIs including OEE, productivity, quality, and cost performance.
  • Manage manufacturing budgets and operational resources.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to optimise performance and minimise downtime.
About You
