Job summary

Ball Corporation in Kettering, England, is seeking a Manufacturing Line Operator to join the on-site production team. You will support the line, perform tasks to meet production goals, and help maintain safety and quality standards.

Shifts are 6 days on a rotating pattern (6 days with 8.5-hour shifts across mornings, afternoons and nights) followed by 4 days off. No prior manufacturing background is required, but a mechanical aptitude and clear communication are important.

Qualifications

• Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.

Position overview:

As the Line Operator, you’re a key member of the Kettering Team, reporting to the Production Team Leader. You will contribute to the success of Ball by performing tasks and providing services to support the plant’s production goals and overall business plans.

The shift pattern is:

6 days on (2 morning, 2 afternoon, 2 night shifts) -8.5 hours per shift.

4 days off.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Complies with and practices, policies, and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment.
• Take ownership for the production line, inspire yourself and others to achieve world class manufacturing practices and results.
• Conducts inspection of in-process or finished product to ensure quality targets are achieved.
• Takes care of the work area and equipment to create a safe and efficient work environment.
• Assists with equipment maintenance by performing routine checks and lubrication.
• Initiate and support lean and improvement initiatives.
• Perform on-the-job training for other personnel.
• 8.5-hour shifts, rotating earlies, lates and nights.
