Night Shift - 3:30PM to 1:30AM (20 Min Paid Lunch)

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

This is a full-time direct labor position responsible for leading production activities as assigned and leading shop employees on night shift. This position is responsible for continuous improvement in efficiency, quality, and schedule performance of the assigned area(s). The Lead-person will oversee the distribution of work throughout the department utilizing effective and acceptable methods. This position influences the efficient and timely manufacture of products and the effectiveness of support activities.

  • Embrace and ensure all SFA’s are following safety policies including PPE, Machine TPM’s and maintaining daily inspections by auditing processes to help identify future issues
  • Responsible for maintaining and continually improving productivity and efficiency levels
  • Assumes responsibility for adherence to the production schedule and assigned work
  • Engages in DDMS activities to support company goals with continuous improvement workflow
  • Ensures timely replenishment of supporting materials and supplies
  • Ensures departmental employees understand and apply the following functions in performing their assigned tasks: shop math, efficient set up and operation of machines, proper tonnage calculations, understands types and gauges of steel
  • May assist in the selection of new hires & in the annual performance review process for shop hourly employees
  • Supports company policies in assigned department (5S, TPM, etc.)
  • Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods, and controls
  • Assists in coordinating manufacturing launch for new or revised products
  • Shares responsibility for maintaining and improving standard operating procedures, safety, quality, inventory control, and performance management with the supervisor and team members
  • Assists in performing accident investigations
  • Assists in tracking absenteeism and timekeeping for employees
  • Embraces and implements Lean Manufacturing and DFT principles
  • Responsible for cleanliness of the assigned area(s)
  • May be assigned related duties other than those specified
  • Assist in empty positions due to manpower constraints
