Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and proven Manufacturing Team Leader to join our Magnesium Elktron Rolling Mills Team. In this role, you will ensure your team follows manufacturing procedures safely and efficiently to meet production plans. You may be assigned to various units within our Manchester site, with a primary focus on the Magnesium Elektron Rolling Mills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold the highest standards of safety, including reviewing and updating risk assessments and SOPs.
  • Serve as an Emergency Response Specialist after specific incident controller training, promoting safety awareness and attending regular training sessions.
  • Operate process equipment and machinery, including FLTs (semi & fully automated machinery), handling sheet magnesium.
  • Ensure your team monitors processes and records production data accurately and timely.
  • Communicate status updates to shift supervisors and other departments (analytical, quality, engineering, etc.).
  • Oversee the packing of finished goods into various containers for transportation.
  • Conduct in-house tests/analysis to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Lead investigations to identify root causes of production issues.
  • Run Daily SQDCC board reviews and proactively participate in Luxfer lean initiatives, including maintaining up-to-date SQDCC boards and 5S programs.
Qualifications/Education:
  • Secondary school education with at least 5 GCSE passes (or equivalent), including English, Maths, and Science (grades C/4 or above).
  • Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject.
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience working with materials processing.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing a team.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
  • Ability to use initiative, prioritize tasks, and work well under pressure.
  • Strong communication, time management, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Personal Attributes:
  • Self-motivated with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Professional, with a positive approach to teamwork and flexibility.
  • Capable of working unsupervised and managing time effectively to meet tight deadlines.

Working Pattern:
Any company/union recognized shift pattern as required (department specific).
