Job summary

Alexander Steele is partnering with a UK manufacturing business seeking a Head of Finance to shape financial strategy and lead a growing function. The role offers a £100K+ salary and a 10% bonus, with an executive benefits package and site-based work in Suffolk.

The successful candidate will lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and reporting, while providing strategic insight to the MD and senior leadership team. An authoritative, results-driven financier is required.

Qualifications

• Must be fully professionally qualified – ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent.
• Led the finance function within a £50m+ manufacturing business.
• Strong commercial and operational finance experience.
• Experience working with an MD/CEO and senior leadership team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall finance function and drive financial strategy.

HEAD OF FINANCE | SUFFOLK | £100K+ + 10% BONUS

A genuine opportunity to shape the financial future of a growing manufacturing business.

I'm working exclusively with an ambitious UK manufacturing business that has grown significantly over the last 12 months — with a further 20–25% growth projected over the next year.

As the business continues to invest, expand and scale, they're now looking for an exceptional Head of Finance to take ownership of the financial function and play a key role in the next phase of growth.

The opportunity

This is much more than a reporting role.

You'll be a key member of the leadership team, providing the financial insight, challenge and commercial support needed to help the business deliver its ambitious growth plans.

You'll have significant exposure to the MD and senior leadership team, helping shape investment decisions, profitability, performance and the future development of the site.

You'll be responsible for:

• Leading the overall finance function
• Providing strategic financial insight to the MD and leadership team
• Driving budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
• Owning financial performance, reporting and controls
• Providing commercial analysis and challenging business decisions where required
• Supporting continued sales and profitability growth
• Driving improved visibility of costs, margins and operational performance
• Supporting CAPEX, investment and site expansion
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial performance and efficiency
• Developing the finance team and strengthening financial processesEnsuring the business has the financial infrastructure required to support continued growth

Who am I looking for?

This is a senior appointment, so I'm specifically looking for someone who:

• Is fully professionally qualified – ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent
• Has personally led the finance function within a £50m+ manufacturing business
• Has strong commercial and operational finance experience
• Has worked closely with an MD / CEO and senior leadership team
• Understands manufacturing economics, cost control and operational performance
• Can operate strategically but isn't afraid to get into the detailHas experience supporting business growth, investment and expansion
• Is a confident leader who can challenge, influence and make things happen
