Job summary

Accrofab Ltd in Alcester is recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer specialising in special processes. The role focuses on supporting operations, improving process flow, and delivering compliant tooling and documentation.

You will work with the Manufacturing Manager to address EHS, quality, cost and delivery, participate in problem solving, PFMEA activities, and audits, with a hands-on approach on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Experience in Automotive / Aerospace & Defence/ Power Gen, Medical, Nuclear, Food and Drink is preferred.
• Multi-axis Laser Programming is essential and EDM & Wire Programming desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the internal customer (Manufacturing Manager) by sharing objectives on EHS, Quality, Cost and Delivery and participating in the Operational Control model.
• Participate in the Manufacturing Manager and/or Team Leader walk the floor routine and develop a stand-alone walk the floor routine.
• Participate in the Daily Operations meeting and relevant Standard Diary meetings, taking ownership of problems assigned to the ME function for resolution.
• Contribute to the delivery of the EHS Model, by participating in Job Safety Observations and providing technical/process solutions to EHS problems where appropriate.
• Understand the process constraints and operating rules of the value stream covered in the ME role and participate in problem-solving exercises to improve flow where relevant.
• Create and control manufacturing documentation such as set-up packs, stage drawings, work instructions, SOPs, etc.
• Take accountability for actions across departments requiring Manufacturing Engineering support (e.g., NPDI, Production, Purchasing, Quality).
• Ensure tooling to support safe, robust and efficient manufacturing is designed, manufactured and available for milestones.
• Implement and/or project manage problem solutions with suppliers, customers, PFMEA activities, etc.
• Participate in internal and external audits and implement solutions where gaps are identified.
