Rolls-Royce Submarines is looking to recruit self-motivated Manufacturing Engineers who enjoy learning new skills, have a positive attitude, and enjoy resolving diverse challenges.

As part of the Engineering Producibility Team, a Manufacturing Engineer will influence new designs using New Product Introduction tools to ensure manufacturability, improve existing products, and develop world-class processes that meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

Our hybrid working model allows flexibility between office, home, or remote work, with an expectation to attend the workplace approximately three days a week for collaboration and specific tasks.

This role offers the chance to contribute to the development and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and methods.

What you will be doing:

  • Executing Manufacturing Product Introduction activities, including designing the Method of Manufacture and individual process steps using the Product Quality Planning toolset.
  • Applying fundamental knowledge of DFMEA/PFMEA to influence product definition and final manufacturing processes.
  • Creating and validating Production Technical Instructions to ensure design intent and meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Being the manufacturing technical authority for the product, managing First offs, new part numbers, resequencing methods, and introducing new tooling.
  • Representing Manufacturing Engineering within cross-functional teams for assigned parts.

Who we're looking for:

  • Experience with fabrications, valves, complex assemblies, machining, or critical classified components.
  • A degree or equivalent in engineering or a related technical discipline, with experience in manufacturing or process engineering.
  • Strong analytical skills and proven problem-solving abilities, with knowledge of six sigma/lean techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills, comfortable presenting to diverse audiences.
