Job summary
MBDA is offering a one-year Manufacturing Engineer undergraduate placement based at our Manufacturing Centre of Excellence in Bolton. You will work on tooling, process development, and production line architecture, spending time on the shop floor and in the office to influence producibility.
Starting September 2027, the role includes potential progression to a graduate role, a company bonus, and a generous pension.
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate studying Physics, Maths or Engineering (aerospace, mechanical, manufacturing, systems, electrical/electronic or general).
- Engineering mindset: ability to turn technical information into usable implementations and identify improvements.
- Training in tools will be provided; prior use of Simul8, SAP, Creo or configuration control is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Influence producibility of designs and determine manufacturing approaches.
- Specify tooling and instructions required to build products.
- Assess the cost of manufacture and validate production lines and suppliers.
- Provide day-to-day support to operators on the shop floor.
- Contribute to production line architecture and develop new processes.
