Job summary

Olympus is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Southend-on-Sea to join the Engineering team within Manufacturing. You will support product life cycle activities, contribute in early design participation for manufacture and regulatory compliance, and drive design transfer to production.

You will work with Design Engineers, QA, Production and Supply Chain to deliver high SQCD manufacturing outcomes and steer continuous improvement across processes such as injection moulding and sheet metal.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or equivalent (Essential) or HND/HNC
• 2+ years in engineering/manufacturing environment (Desirable)
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and QCD targets
• Familiarity with design software tools and SAP
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Involve early design input to support DFx and regulatory compliance.
• Lead design transfer to manufacturing and ensure project readiness.
• Provide manufacturing engineering support to meet SQCD objectives.
• Design, plan and commission production line layouts and equipment.
• Transfer and set up manufacturing data and documentation.
• Support engineering changes and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain knowledge of injection moulding and sheet metal processes.
• Collaborate with Design, QA, Production and Supply Chain teams.
