Job summary

NP Aerospace is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer at Site 2 in Coventry to bridge design and shop-floor realities, leading readiness for new vehicle products.

You will work with Engineering, Operations and Programme teams, evaluate CAD models, support prototyping and ensure manufacturability; apply Lean methods to improve processes and reduce waste. The role is onsite with a view to career growth in a global defence company.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer across a variety of operational environments.
• Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts and methodologies.
• Practical experience applying problem‑solving techniques such as 5 Whys, Ishikawa and 8D.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing readiness activities for new vehicle products, including process design, work balancing, manufacturing instructions, PFMEA completion, process development and operator training.
• Work with Engineering, Operations and Programme teams to ensure manufacturability of vehicle components and assemblies.
• Improve existing processes using Lean techniques (5S, standard operations, line balancing, single‑piece flow) to boost productivity and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with tooling suppliers to ensure equipment meets programme deadlines and maintain accurate engineering BOMs.
