Job description

Evolito’s mission is to accelerate the adoption of electric propulsion in aerospace applications in support of a net‑zero world. We will help to revolutionise personal mobility and transform our towns and cities with clean, noise‑free air transportation. Evolito develops and manufactures class‑leading, lightweight, high‑power, and high‑torque‑density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation. As well as ultra‑high performance, low‑weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high‑integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months.

As part of our current high‑growth phase, we are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering team to develop, improve, and support the operations, manufacturing processes and equipment to enable volume production of our products to customers.

Responsibilities
  • Planning, specifying, and implementing manufacturing facilities and processes for axial flux motor and motor control unit assembly and testing
  • Leading equipment specification, procurement, and commissioning activities, including Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT)
  • Attending Design Reviews and providing insights into manufacturing feasibility of new product designs
  • Creating and managing MBOMs, process flows, routings, work instructions, and other technical documentation using digital tools to ensure accuracy and accessibility
  • Supporting engineering trials, first builds, and line changes, working closely with production, quality, and planning teams to resolve constraints and ensure smooth transitions
  • Collaborating with Tooling Engineers and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and validation of production tooling
  • Actively participating in daily stand‑ups, Material Review Boards, and other cross‑functional meetings, providing regular updates and flagging delivery risks
  • Carrying out assessments of manufacturing processes and equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational risk mitigation
  • Executing advanced quality planning activities such as PFMEA and Control Plans, Virtual Builds and Production Readiness Reviews, and validating processes using data‑driven methods
  • Supporting FRACAS investigations by applying structured problem‑solving techniques to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Contributing accurate manufacturing cost estimates and feasibility assessments to support programmes in the initial proposal phases
  • Taking ownership of personal development by actively seeking feedback, engaging in training, and participating in team development initiatives
  • Contributing to a collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge, supporting peers, and engaging constructively in cross‑functional interactions
Qualifications
  • A degree qualification in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or HNC/HND and relevant experience
  • Proven experience in process design and optimisation, with a focus on aerospace manufacturing and safety‑critical components
  • Detail‑oriented and driven by a continuous improvement mindset and a commitment to operational excellence
  • Understanding of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles and how to apply them in the early stages of product development
  • Familiarity with manufacturing automation and industrial equipment, especially related to processes such as adhesive dispensing, laser welding, electrical testing and leak testing
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and typical aerospace quality standards such as ISO9001, AS9100 and AS9145
  • Competent in ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP) and Product Lifecycle Management tools such as Siemens Teamcenter and Opcenter Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to generate technical documentation and present to a cross‑functional audience with confidence
  • A flexible approach to work and the desire to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑moving environment
  • Ability to travel if required
