Job summary

Thales in Templecombe, UK, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to provide day-to-day technical support to manufacturing operations and drive continuous improvement across products and processes. You will work with Engineering, Projects, Procurement and Production to ensure products are designed and manufactured efficiently, safely and cost-effectively.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment.
• Knowledge of manufacturing process development and continuous improvement.
• Experience creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation and production data.
• Understanding of Design for Manufacture (DfM) principles.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs) and prepare manufacturing data.
• Assess Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRLs) to mitigate manufacturing risks.
• Define, develop and optimise manufacturing processes, tooling and production layouts.
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, workflows and ERP production data.
• Support Design for Manufacture activities across engineering and project teams.
• Act as the manufacturing representative at MRBs and CCBs.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Identify opportunities for capital investment through cost-benefit and ROI analysis.
• Support supply chain activities as an Industrial Subject Matter Expert.
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
