The role covers walking the floor, contributing to daily operations, PFMEA, tooling, and cross‑functional problem solving. Solid laser programming and sheet metal experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in Automotive / Aerospace & Defence, Power Gen, Medical, Nuclear, Food and Drink.
• Multi-axis Laser Programming is essential; EDM & Wire Programming desirable.
• 2 year minimum – Laser Engineer / programmer.
• Key skills: Laser Programming, Engineering competence, Sheet metal and fabrications experience.
• Solidworks (not essential, variants acceptable: Catia, NX).

Responsibilities

• Support the Manufacturing Manager by sharing objectives on EHS, Quality, Cost and Delivery.
• Walk the floor with the team and develop a stand-alone walk the floor routine.
• Participate in Daily Operations and Standard Diary meetings and resolve ME issues.
• Contribute to the EHS Model and PFMEA activities where appropriate.
• Understand value stream constraints and improve flow through problem solving.
• Create and control manufacturing documentation such as SOPs, work instructions and drawings.
• Take accountability for actions requiring ME support across departments.
• Ensure tooling for safe, robust manufacturing is available for milestones.
• Project manage solutions with suppliers/customers and audits.
• Assist in audits and implement solutions for identified gaps.
