Job Description

Position: Manufacturing Engineer – 1) Composites 3D Weaving or 2) Textiles Engineer/Programmer

Working Pattern: Full time

Location: Bristol

Rolls-Royce is developing manufacturing methods, processes, and materials for composite fan systems. We are in an exciting growth phase, delivering composite components across Civil Aerospace and Defence divisions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver composite preform processes, including 3D Weaving, for new fan systems.
  • Ensure processes meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Develop technical packages, including equipment specifications and process documentation.
  • Identify process improvements using statistical tools.
  • Drive towards zero defects, owning technology plans and strategies.
  • Design and verify preform programs for composite manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with internal and external specialists, supporting design for manufacture.
  • Understand manufacturing processes to optimize programming and equipment use.
Qualifications
  • Engineering or relevant degree, HND, or HNC with manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in 3D weaving and textile manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of technology readiness levels and process maturity.
  • Experience with aerospace management systems and process controls.
  • Familiarity with weave design, programming, and CAD/CAM tools like CATIA or Siemens NX.
  • Programming skills in Python, C#, or similar are advantageous.
