Job description
As a Manufacturing Engineer at Safran Nacelles, you will define, validate, and support the manufacturing process from engineering definition to production, ensuring requirements for Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), quality, cost, and delivery are met, with a focus on both people and innovation.
Main Activities
Define manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with specifications and One Safran standards
Design manufacturing processes with Takt/Flow philosophy and ergonomic risk reduction
Create and validate SOPs, work instructions, quality control points, inspection methods, and authority approvals
Develop routes, BOMs, master layouts, tooling requests, data sheets, production support drawings, tooling definitions, and CAM/NC data
Ensure process design meets targets for quality, cost, and delivery
Provide technical guidance to internal and external suppliers
Plan, drive, and coordinate industrial product validation activities
Manage stakeholder relations within programmes, supporting Health & Safety, Digitalisation, and Environmental initiatives
Represent manufacturing engineering with customers, alongside the Industrial Programme Manager
Establish global manufacturing process concepts, participate in selection of plant and equipment, and prepare factory layouts
Manage engineering risk using PFMEA and SPC to ensure sustainable and repeatable processes
Drive and deliver projects within the role's scope
Provide line/process support for product flow, ensuring commitments are met
Lead lean projects, ensuring improvements are integrated into ERP systems
Participate in governance meetings, QRQC, audits, rate readiness/capital investment exercises, and structured problem-solving (8D, DMAIC)
Identify and elevate any risks related to product or people safety, using company tools and processes
Take personal accountability for continuous professional development

Candidate skills & requirements
Sound understanding of engineering definition for industrialisation; able to work independently
Technical Stamp (or ability to obtain within 6 months of joining)
Experience in DMAIC problem solving
Good working knowledge of manufacturing processes used onsite
Experience in timely delivery of projects with cost considerations
Advocate for product and process integrity
Knowledge of One Safran Manufacturing Handbook
Meets requirements within skills matrix at appropriate level
Tools
