Job summary

Endeavour Recruitment is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a 12+ month contract based onsite in Stevenage. The role focuses on assembly and integration of electro-mechanical systems, with emphasis on interpreting drawings and producing build instructions for operators.

The candidate should have an engineering degree or equivalent qualifications with extensive experience in electronic sub-assembly to system-level builds and SAP/QA processes.

Qualifications

  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Apprenticeship at Advanced Level or L3.
  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 4 qualification (HNC, diploma).
  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 NVQ (not required if L3 apprenticeship).
  • Degree in a relevant subject with 5 years’ engineering experience.
  • Ability to interpret design drawings and produce manufacturing build instructions for operators.
  • Experience in Electronic Sub Assembly to System level builds.
  • Knowledge of assembly processes for small Electro-Mechanical Actuation Systems.
  • Strong communication within team and across levels of the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Compile and update Manufacturing Instructions.
  • Design, Commission and prove tooling.
  • Support industrial validation with FMEA/FAI.
  • Resolve technical problems in manufacturing.
  • Manage route cards and rework activities.
  • Maintain Configuration Control with design modifications.
  • Support SAP-based Non-Conformance processes.

Manufacturing Engineer Assembly and Integration

JOB LOCATION: STEVENAGE

SECURITY: SC (But Can Start on BPSS)

DURATION: 12+ Months (Possibility for Extensions)

TYPE: Contract

WORK PATTERN: FULLTIME ONSITE – 5 Days a Week.

PAY RATE: £ 32 – £ 35 / PER HOUR (Umbrella Inside IR35)

Essential QUALIFICATIONS/Experience
  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Apprenticeship (Advanced Level or L3 Standard)
  • AND
  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 4 academic qualification (HNC, diploma, etc.)
  • AND
  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 vocational qualification (NVQ) *Not required if a L3 apprenticeship standard has been achieved
  • OR
  • Degree in a relevant subject.5 years’ experience within an engineering discipline.
  • Have the ability to interpret Design Drawings with a view to producing Manufacturing Build Instructions for both Skilled and Semi-Skilled operators.
  • Have experience of Electronic Sub Assembly manufacture through to System level builds.
  • Have experience and knowledge of the assembly process for small/miniature Electro-Mechanical Actuation Systems.
  • Must be able to work within, and contribute to a team environment.
  • Recognise and understand customer requirements, and respond to them.
  • Understand and work to Company Processes and Procedures.
  • Have the ability to communicate both within the working group and at various levels of the organisation

Responsibilities
  • As a Manufacturing Engineer within the unit & missile assembly manufacturing facility your focus will be to ensure that our products are built efficiently and to budget. A key member of the Manufacturing Engineering team, you will carry out activities in support of multi-project manufacturing.
  • Compilation and update of Manufacturing Instructions.
  • Design, Commissioning and proving of associated tooling.
  • Support the industrial validation process through the use of FMEA’s, FAI’s etc.
  • Resolution of technical problems that may arise during the manufacturing process.
  • Route card changes as a result or rework activities.
  • Management of Configuration Control by the embodiment of Design Modifications into the Manufacturing Instructions.
  • Support to the Non Conformance Process using SAP.
