Job summary

MERITUS are recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Assembly and Integration team on sovereign defence manufacturing programmes. You must have SAP exposure, HNC/BEng or significant ME experience. SAP is non negotiable.

Based in Bolton, UK, this 12-month contract inside IR35 offers £35 per hour with potential to go permanent. Start in October, working with the Principal Engineer on multiple projects and manufacturing documentation, DFx, and tooling development.

Qualifications

• SAP exposure is mandatory and must be demonstrable on CV.
• Formal technical apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 with HNC or equivalent.
• Alternatively a degree in an engineering subject is acceptable.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings for manufacturing build instructions.
• Proactive problem solving and ability to work to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support existing manufacturing lines and new product introduction.
• Contribute to industrial validation and process proving activities.
• Manage manufacturing documentation and change control.
• Support non-conformance investigations and corrective actions.
• Ensure safety, efficiency and cost considerations in production.

PLEASE NOTE: You must have either a HNC, BEng in a relevant discipline and/or Significant Experience as an ME with SAP exposure. SAP IS NON NEGOTIABLE.

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER - INSIDE IR35 - £35 PER HOUR - UNDERGO SC CLEARANCE - 12 MONTHS (OPPORTUNITIES TO GO PERM) - BOLTON, UK - SECTOR: DEFENCE

HOURS: 37 Hours Per Week

TIME TO START: October Start

The opportunity also allows you to grow your knowledge within manufacturing as part of our development into future opportunities. Industrial Validation, manufacturing architecture and factory of the future principles are some of the work packages that provide stretched objectives for such growth.

Working with the Principal Engineer, you will be working on multiple projects, responsible for manufacturing problem identification and resolution:

• Support existing manufacturing lines and new product introduction
• Support the industrial validation process through the use of FMEA\'s, process proving activities etc.
• Management of configuration control by the embodiment of design modifications into the manufacturing documentation and industrial validation
• Support the non-conformance process
• Ensure products are produced with consideration to safety, efficiency and economic factors
• Assume the responsibilities for safe operating implementation for changed processes, including liaising with COSHH assessors, SHE and human factors
• Liaise with the design authority during the product prototype/development phase, to ensure optimised Design for Manufacture (DfM)
• Compilation and update of Manufacturing Instructions maintaining production BOMs
• Tooling development and control

What we're looking for from you:

• SAP EXPERIENCE (DEMONSTABLE ON CV)
• Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 and Formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject

• Degree in relevant Engineering subject
• Must demonstrate a proactive approach to problem solving and commitment to work to meet our delivery milestones.
• Have the ability to interpret Design Drawings with a view to producing Manufacturing Build Instructions.
• Must be able to work within and contribute to a team environment.
• Awareness of digital communication platforms to work and communicate effectively within the workplace
