Job summary

A global manufacturing business is seeking a Manufacturing / Production Engineer to support their facility near Welwyn Garden City. The role involves developing new product initiatives, providing engineering support, and ensuring quality standards are met. Qualifications

gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Process / Production Engineer to work at their facility near Welwyn Garden City.

Performance Objectives

1. Develop NPI projects with relevant departments and manage projects through to successful completion.
2. Support commercial requirements of the department and others.
3. Produce estimates, technical and manufacturing proposals for bids and new business development.
4. Assist with tool design, manufacture, repair, and purchase.
5. Produce and update risk assessments, FMEA as required.
6. Provide technical and engineering support for manufacturing processes.
7. Create, maintain, and update route cards, BOMs, technical documents, and inspection plans.
8. Ensure engineering and quality requirements for products are met.
9. Develop, implement, and monitor 'Best Practice' lean manufacturing processes.
10. Process customer returns and complaints as needed.
11. Respond to defect reports and engineering change requests promptly.
12. Liaise with unit leaders and support customer visits.
13. Own and ensure closure of CAPA actions.

Person Specification

• NVQ in Engineering or equivalent or above.
• Manufacturing experience in a low-volume environment.
• Experience with engineering solutions for complex problems.
• Familiarity with using an MRP system.
• Solid understanding of engineering principles.
• Experience in the aircraft industry or AS9100 controlled environment.

Desirable

• Engineering Degree.
• Operational or leadership qualifications.
• Experience with Catia/Enovia V5.
• Knowledge of CAD 2D/3D software.
• Knowledge of Aventa.
• MS Project & Visio.
