£35,000 - £42,000 pa (DOE) + Benefits

We are seeking a proactive Manufacturing Engineer to take ownership of manufacturing methods, production routings, and workflow planning within a busy machinery manufacturing environment.

You will act as the key link between design, manufacturing, and procurement, ensuring accurate build information, efficient manufacturing routings, and well-structured routes of manufacture within the ERP / MRP system.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Creating, updating, and continuously improving manufacturing routings, production routings, and routes of manufacture
  • Planning machining, fabrication, and assembly routes to ensure components are delivered on time and to specification
  • Reviewing engineering drawings and technical documentation to define the most efficient manufacturing methods
  • Setting up, maintaining, and auditing routing data within the ERP / MRP system, ensuring accuracy and traceability
  • Identifying tooling, work holding, fixtures, and process requirements for a variety of engineered components
  • Supporting purchasing activities by sourcing parts, materials, tooling, and consumables for production
  • Providing hands‑on engineering support to the shopfloor, resolving technical, quality, and process issues
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and optimise workflows
  • Collaborating closely with design, machining, fabrication, and assembly teams to refine build methods for complex machinery
What We’re Looking For:
  • Strong understanding of workshop and manufacturing processes, including machining, fabrication, tooling, work holding, speeds, and feeds
  • Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Previous experience in a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, Methods Engineer, Methods Planning Engineer, Process Engineer, or similar role
  • Proven experience managing manufacturing routings, production routings, and planning data within an ERP / MRP system
  • A practical, solutions‑focused engineer comfortable working hands‑on with production teams
  • Background in mechanical or manufacturing engineering
