Job summary

Beagle Aircraft is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our Engineering team, reporting to the Chief Engineer. You will develop and improve manufacturing processes for aerospace products, collaborating with Production, Engineering, Commercial and Purchasing to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality output.

You will support New Product Introduction (NPI), process planning, and manufacturing methods, and prepare process documentation for production.

Qualifications

  • Experience as Manufacturing Engineer in aerospace or precision manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and process planning.
  • Experience preparing manufacturing estimates, labour hours and costs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve manufacturing methods, tooling and production processes for aerospace components.
  • Support NPI and ensure smooth transition of products into manufacture.
  • Produce and maintain process documentation (LCDs, PCDs, process plans).
  • Review and amend methods to support engineering changes and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical support to Production and resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Liaise with customers and subcontractors to resolve technical queries and support delivery.
  • Work with Shop Floor Supervisors to introduce new products effectively.
  • Prepare manufacturing estimates including labour hours, material costs and tooling.
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance, reduce costs and boost productivity.
  • Stay updated with new manufacturing technologies and industry best practices.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you'll play a key role in developing and improving manufacturing processes for both new and existing aerospace products. Working closely with Production, Engineering, Commercial and Purchasing teams, you'll support New Product Introduction (NPI), process planning, manufacturing methods and customer quotations, helping ensure products are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and improve manufacturing methods, tooling and production processes for aerospace components.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring products transition efficiently into manufacture.
  • Produce and maintain manufacturing process documentation, including process planning sheets, Local Control Documents (LCDs) and Process Control Documents (PCDs).
  • Review and amend manufacturing methods and process plans to support engineering changes, customer requirements and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical support to Production, resolving manufacturing issues and improving process efficiency.
  • Liaise with customers and subcontractors to resolve technical queries and support project delivery.
  • Work closely with Shop Floor Supervisors to ensure new products are introduced effectively.
  • Prepare manufacturing estimates and quotations, including labour hours, material costs and tooling requirements, to support customer RFQs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing performance, reduce costs and increase productivity.
  • Keep up to date with new manufacturing technologies, equipment and industry best practice.
About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges and has a passion for improving manufacturing processes within an aerospace environment.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within aerospace, engineering or precision manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including sheet metal, metallic structures, welding, resistance welding and aerospace assembly.
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing process planning.
  • Experience preparing manufacturing estimates, labour calculations and customer quotations.
  • The ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across Engineering, Production, Commercial and Purchasing teams.
  • Knowledge of composites and machine shop planning would be advantageous.
