Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent in Manufacturing/Mechanical/Aerospace
  • Experience in a manufacturing engineer role within production
  • Experience with aerospace or precision engineering is advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering documentation

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain route cards, BOMs, and work instructions
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes for efficiency, quality, and consistency
  • Support disposition of non-conforming products and return-to-conformity activities
  • Implement process improvements and changes through change control
  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve issues
  • Support continuous improvement across production operations
  • Review customer specs to ensure processes meet requirements
  • Collaborate with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders
  • Support NPI activities including design reviews and pfMEA sessions
  • Assist with manufacturing estimates, proposals and special projects

Job description

We're supporting a leading aerospace manufacturing business in their search for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or precision engineering environments who enjoys solving technical challenges, driving process improvements, and supporting new product introduction activities. You'll play a key role in developing manufacturing methods, resolving production issues, and ensuring products are delivered to the highest quality standards.

Core Duties
  • Creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation including route cards, BOMs, and work instructions
  • Developing and improving manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and consistency
  • Supporting the disposition of non-conforming products and driving return-to-conformity activities
  • Implementing process improvements and engineering changes through structured change control processes
  • Conducting root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve manufacturing issues
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across production operations
  • Reviewing customer specifications and ensuring manufacturing processes remain compliant with requirements
  • Working closely with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to support operational objectives
  • Supporting new product introduction activities including design reviews, pFMEA sessions, and technical documentation
  • Assisting with manufacturing estimates, proposals, and special engineering projects
About You
  • Degree, HND, or HNC qualified in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Previous experience in a Manufacturing Engineer position within a production environment
  • Aerospace industry experience would be advantageous
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering documentation
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing process improvements
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with a structured and pragmatic approach to engineering challenges
  • Knowledge of MRP systems and CAD software would be beneficial
