Job summary

Sheffield Forgemasters Engineering Ltd is seeking a Data & Analytics Engineer to strengthen data foundations across ERP, MES and EAM systems. You will work with stakeholders to improve data quality, governance, and consistency, enabling reliable reporting and future analytics within our manufacturing environment.

You will partner with IT and business teams to define data standards, support KPIs, and drive data-driven decision making in a 37.5-hour, full-time role at our Sheffield site.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years in a data-focused role (Data Engineering, Data Stewardship, or Data Analysis).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including Supply Chain, MRP, Asset Management, and machine/IoT data.
• Experience with Master Data Management (MDM), SQL, relational databases, and data integration from multiple systems.
• Experience using Power BI for reporting and visualisation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Improve and maintain data quality, integrity, and consistency across ERP, MES, EAM, and other business systems.
• Support data governance activities, ensuring compliance with data standards, policies, and GDPR requirements.
• Manage and maintain master data, driving consistency across integrated systems and processes.
• Develop data definitions, metadata, and reporting standards to create a trusted 'single source of truth'.
• Partner with stakeholders across Supply Chain, Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to align data with operational processes.
• Extract, analyse, and interpret data from multiple systems to support reporting, KPIs, and business decision-making.
• Collaborate with IT, business users, and governance teams to resolve data issues and promote best practices.
• Support data lifecycle, security, audit, and compliance activities to protect critical business information.
