Job description

Manufacturing Assembly operative, Southampton

Here at TXM Recruit, we are looking for an assembly operative / manufacturing operative to work on rail projects and technologies. If you are interested, click to apply and join the team.

Location: Romsey, Southampton

Pay: £20 hourly PAYE or £26.29 via umbrella company.

Working week: Monday to Friday, 8-hour days.

Job Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a complex mechanical assembly environment.
  • High level of “attention to detail” and adherence to process.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
Assembly operative responsibilities:
  • Support and follow company procedures and processes.
  • Work independently without supervision.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Implement high-precision assembly following written instructions.
  • Be self-motivated with a ‘Can Do’ attitude.
  • Respond promptly to manufacturing and engineering requirements.
  • Assemble equipment efficiently.
  • Undertake other duties as requested by the Manufacturing Manager.
  • Experience with cable manufacture, soldering, fiber optics, PCB assembly.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and modern practices.
