Job summary

ABB UK is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Engineer - Applications Specialist to support and develop applications in ABB's manufacturing IT/OT environment. You will gather requirements, develop in C# and .NET, test, deploy and support throughout the lifecycle, contributing to factory operations and continuous improvement.

The role offers onsite work in the UK, collaboration across departments, and opportunities to grow technical expertise in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline.
• Experience in an application development role with exposure to software support activities.
• Knowledge of C#, .NET Framework/.NET technologies including Web Forms, WinForms, WPF and Web Services.
• Experience working with SQL databases, SQL Server and stored procedures.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS and modern web frameworks.
• Understanding of manufacturing systems or Industry 4.0 concepts advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Gather requirements and support the specification, development, testing, deployment and configuration of manufacturing applications.
• Develop and maintain applications using C# and .NET technologies for robust solutions.
• Investigate and resolve application and factory-related issues with timely solutions.
• Produce clear technical documentation and user-focused problem descriptions.
