Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking a Manufacturing Applications Engineer in Gloucestershire. You will design, develop, and support applications used in a live manufacturing environment and own the full lifecycle from requirements to deployment.

Collaborating with production, engineering and IT, you will translate business needs into technical solutions, troubleshoot issues, and maintain systems. A strong problem-solver with customer-focused communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in software development (C#, .NET or similar).
• Knowledge of databases and web-based application development.
• Exposure to manufacturing, industrial, or production environments is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot independently.
• Ability to translate user requirements into practical solutions.
• Able to work independently and in a small, collaborative team.
• Strong communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support applications used in a live manufacturing environment.
• Own the full application lifecycle: requirements, development, testing, deployment, and improvement.

• Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day factory system issues with minimal disruption.
• Provide ongoing maintenance and optimisation of manufacturing systems and applications.
• Manage and prioritise incidents to resolve critical issues efficiently.
• Work with wider IT teams to ensure system stability and scalability.
• Build strong relationships with internal users and deliver high-quality support.

Responsibilities - Manufacturing Applications Engineer

• Design, develop, and support applications used within a live manufacturing environment
• Own the full application lifecycle: requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement
• Work closely with production, engineering, and IT stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day factory system issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
