Trac Precision Solutions Limited is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, improve, and control manufacturing processes for safe, efficient delivery aligned with customer and industry standards.

You will work across multiple operations and technologies, supporting NPI, PFMEA, capability studies, and production readiness while applying Lean/Six Sigma to drive continuous improvement and manufacturing excellence in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years in engineering in precision manufacturing.
  • Experience with turbine components or regulated industries is advantageous.
  • Experience with AS9100 quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with NADCAP-controlled special processes is desirable.
  • Proficient in CAD/CAM; CNC grinding, milling, and EDM.
  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing processes meeting customer, quality, and business requirements.
  • Support new product introduction activities including PFMEA, capability studies, customer qualification, and production readiness reviews.
  • Provide technical support for production activities and manufacturing improvement initiatives.
  • Lead process improvement projects to enhance quality, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing issues using structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing routings, process documentation, work instructions, and engineering records.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, engineering, and customer-facing teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Contribute to adoption of new manufacturing technologies and continuous improvement practices.
  • Deliver training and guidance to production teams on manufacturing processes and best practices.
  • Any other duties deemed suitable by your line manager and as reasonably required by the business.

Job description

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing, improving, and controlling manufacturing processes to ensure products are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with customer requirements and industry standards. The role supports both new and existing products, working across a range of manufacturing operations and technologies to optimise quality, cost, and delivery performance. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the successful candidate will help resolve manufacturing challenges, drive continuous improvement activities, and support the introduction of new products and processes. The role involves process planning, problem-solving, use of engineering tools and technologies, and application of recognised improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

COMPETENCIES:
  • Competent in CAD/CAM systems with the ability to interpret and manipulate 3D geometry to support manufacturing process development.
  • Knowledge of precision manufacturing processes including CNC grinding, milling, EDM, and inspection techniques.
  • Knowledge of established manufacturing methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Methodical and logical approach to problem-solving with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both upwards and downwards within the organization.
  • Collaborative team player with a flexible approach and a strong drive for results.
  • Awareness of Industry 4.0/5.0 technologies and their applications.
EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Education:
  • Relevant Engineering Degree or Recognised Vocational Qualifications with Equivalent Experience.
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Engineering role within a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of aerospace, gas turbine, power generation, or similarly regulated engineering industries is advantageous.
  • Experience with the manufacture or processing of turbine components including blades, vanes, seal segments, or similar complex engineered products is desirable.
  • Experience working within AS9100 accredited quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with NADCAP-controlled special processes and associated compliance requirements is desirable.
Skills:
  • Competent in CAD/CAM systems.
  • CNC programming skills, including grinding, milling, and EDM.
  • Methodical and logical approach to problem-solving with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both upwards and downwards within the organization.
  • Collaborative team player with a flexible approach and a strong drive for results.
