Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking a self-motivated Applications / Process Engineer in the Cheltenham area to work closely with customers, distributors and agents to develop effective machine solutions. The role offers varied, hands-on engineering work within a globally recognised engineering business.

You will conduct process development, run trials, compile reports and train customers to operate and service machines, domestically and internationally. Regular travel is required.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills with customers, distributors and sales teams.
• Hands-on engineering experience supporting project development and trials.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally for site trainings and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Carry out process development, demonstrations and tests on the full range of machines on site and at customers.
• Maintain and update Trial Request forms and Applications Priority list.
• Communicate progress with customers and Sales for updates.
• Complete test reports and case study forms.
• Support feasibility reviews and training manual creation.
• Train customers to operate machines (domestic and international).
• Visit customer premises for training, commissioning or problem resolution (domestic and international).
• Manage R&D projects and abrasive development trials.
• Liaise with customers, distributors or agents on applications and provide technical sales support.

Role: Applications Process Engineer

Location: Cheltenham

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Monday to Friday - 8am - 4.30pm (early Friday finish)

We are seeking a self-motivated Applications / Process Engineer with an engineering background. Working closely with customers, distributors and agents to develop effective solutions. This is a varied and hands-on engineering role offering the opportunity to develop specialist expertise within a globally recognised engineering business.

The successful candidate will need to be technically minded, confident and professional, with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers, distributors, agents, sales and engineering teams.

The Role

Carry out process development, demonstrations and development tests as required on the full range of machines at on site and at customers:

• Ensuring Trial Request forms are filled in for every application. (where applicable).
• Updating of Applications Priority list.
• Communicating with Customers and Sales team to give progress updates.
• Completion of test reports.
• Compiling Case study forms.
• Assisting Sales and Engineering departments with Feasibility reviews.
• Assistance with creation of Training Manuals.
• Training customers to Operate and machines. (Domestic and International)
• Site visits to Customers premises for Training / Commissioning or Problem resolutions. (Domestic and International)
• Involvement/Management of R+D projects.
• Involvement/Management of Abrasive development trials.
• Liaise with customer, distributor or agent on applications.
• Give technical support to the sales desk as required
• Manufacture or modify fixtures and tools as required.
• Commission new machines in the UK and internationally.
• Tooling development trials.

Travel Requirements

Due to the nature of the role, regular travel to customer premises within the UK and internationally is a fundamental requirement.
