Job summary

Apex Appoint is recruiting for a Manual Machining Engineer to join a well‑established engineering business in the Swadlincote area. This hands‑on role suits someone with a strong background in manual/conventional machining, able to work from engineering drawings and produce accurate components using traditional machine tools.

You will work Monday to Friday on a regular day shift, earning £15–£20 per hour DOE. Permanent employment with potential for further training.

Qualifications

• Previous manual machining experience.
• Experience with manual lathes and/or milling machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Good understanding of tolerances and precision measurement.
• Mechanical engineering or machining background.
• Apprentice-trained or engineering qualifications would be advantageous.

• Producing components from engineering drawings.
• Setting machines, selecting tooling and machining to required tolerances.

You’ll be working Monday to Friday on a regular day shift, with pay of £15–£20 per hour depending on experience.
