Engineering Connect are recruiting for an experienced Manual Machinist to join our Blackburn area facility in a permanent full-time role.

The role involves operating manual milling machines, pillar drills and lathes to produce small batch, precision components from engineering drawings. You will use measuring equipment to check tolerances and ensure high quality, on-time delivery in a busy workshop. There is overtime available at an enhanced rate and a salary banding system.

Qualifications

• Previous manual machining experience.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Experience using milling machines, pillar drills and/or lathes.
• Confident using engineering measuring equipment.
• Mechanically minded with a hands-on approach.

Manual Machinist

Location: Blackburn, Lancashire

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:00am – 5:00pm (4-day working week)

Salary: Competitive / dependent on experience

Engineering Connect are recruiting for an experienced Manual Machinist to join a well-established engineering manufacturer based in the Blackburn area.

This is a permanent position working a 4-day week, Monday to Thursday, within a busy engineering environment carrying out small batch precision machining.

The Role:

• Operating manual milling machines, pillar drills and lathes
• Machining precision components for small batch work
• Working from engineering drawings
• Using measuring equipment to check components and tolerances
• Ensuring work is completed accurately and to a high standard
• Working to production deadlines and targets
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

The Person:

• Previous manual machining experience
• Experience using milling machines, pillar drills and/or lathes
• Must have previously worked within an engineering/manufacturing environment
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings
• Confident using engineering measuring equipment
• Mechanically minded with a hands-on approach
• Good attention to detail
