Job summary
Castle Employment Group is recruiting an experienced Manual Lathe Turner for a Bradford-based precision engineering company. The role centers on setting up and operating a Broadbent Stanley lathe to machine large components to tight tolerances.
You will work Monday to Friday, days only, with an early finish on Fridays, a pension, annual leave, and opportunities for overtime. The position offers stability, variety, and progression in a busy workshop environment in West Yorkshire.
Qualifications
- Experience setting up and operating manual lathes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Knowledge of tolerances and surface finishes.
- Experience in a precision engineering environment.
- Flexible approach to workshop activities.
Responsibilities
- Setting up and operating a large Broadbent Stanley manual lathe.
- Machining large and heavy components to engineering drawings.
- Working to specified tolerances, dimensions and surface finishes.
- Selecting tooling, speeds and feeds for different materials.
- Carrying out dimensional checks and quality inspections.
- Supporting other workshop activities including CNC milling and inspection.
