Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to support the Trust with the safe and effective management of manual handling and back care. This post will report to the Head of Health and Safety and is based within the Trust Health and Safety Team.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with significant experience in manual handling and back care to join the Trust Health and Safety Team.

This post will be based in Nottingham (other options may be available), with work across all Trust sites to support the Teams in meeting their statutory responsibilities and manual handling needs.

You will require significant experience of producing and delivering training, supported by a relevant training qualification.

You will be required to provide specialist support to the Trust on all aspects of manual handling, including implementing the Trust's Manual Handling Policy.

Knowledge of relevant patient safety and manual handling processes, documents, and current legislation is essential, along with experience of the practical application of manual handling in various environments with a diverse patient group.

The role involves providing a specialist manual handling advisory, educational, and support service across Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This includes supporting the Trust Learning and Organisational Development Team with designing and implementing manual handling safety training for all Trust staff.

You will provide expert advice across all departments and to the Trust Learning and Organisational Development trainers on all aspects of manual handling to help the Trust meet current legislation and best practice guidance. Additionally, you will support clinical teams as part of a multidisciplinary approach to meet patient and staff needs related to manual handling and promote musculoskeletal health.
