Job summary

ELP Consult Ltd. is seeking a Mandarin-speaking Electrical Data Centre Engineer to join our London Data Centre team in Slough. You will lead electrical operations, ensure compliance with standards, and drive reliability across the facility.

Responsibilities include supervising the FM team, approving procedures, performing audits, and conducting root-cause analyses for power incidents. The role requires strong communication and collaboration with IT and facilities teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• CEng or IEng qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead overseeing the Facility Management (FM) team to ensure all electrical operations align with global standards and SLAs.
• Review and approve critical operational documents, including MOP, SOP, and EOP.
• Conduct regular audits of maintenance records and onsite activities to ensure high standards of execution and safety compliance.
• Lead RCA for power-related incidents and identify SPOFs with mitigation measures.
• Oversee high-risk electrical operations including UPS bypass, generator load testing, and HV switching.
• Review electrical system modifications and capacity expansion plans to safeguard live IT operations.
• Support long-term CAPEX planning through equipment health assessments and lifecycle analysis.
• Drive energy efficiency initiatives by analysing power distribution performance and PUE trends.
• Ensure compliance with local statutory and regulatory requirements and promote Electrical Safety Programs.
