Job summary

Newmedica is hiring a Bank Optometrist in Manchester to support our outpatient and surgical pathways. You will run pre- and post-operative clinics, perform diagnostic tests, interpret results and help triage patients in a modern hospital setting.

The role offers varied hours and the opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary team focused on high-quality eye care and patient comfort. A fully qualified optometrist with GOC registration is required, with IP qualification preferred but not

Qualifications

• Fully qualified optometrist with current GOC registration
• Independent Prescribing (IP) qualification is preferred but not essential
• Experience in hospital eye service or private eye clinic is advantageous
• Able to manage high-volume clinic (~18–22 patients/day)
• Proficient with diagnostic equipment and electronic systems

Responsibilities

• Run pre- and post-operative clinics and triage patients
• Perform and interpret a range of diagnostic tests and devices
• Explain procedures and provide patient information and reassurance
• Contribute to high-standard specialist optometric services and team training
