Job summary

Chapter 2 is seeking a Bank Optometrist for Guildford GU2 to support private ophthalmology services across cataract, refractive, glaucoma and medical retina pathways.

You will be a GOC-registered optometrist delivering pre-operative and post-operative assessments, patient consultations and ensuring clinical governance within a multidisciplinary team. Flexibility for bank shifts and travel to other sites is required.

Qualifications

• GOC-registered optometrist
• Capable of covering 2+ shifts Monday to Friday
• Ideally 2+ years continuous GOC registration
• Experience in hospital, refractive or clinical settings
• IP qualification desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Carry out pre-operative and post-operative assessments for cataract and other pathways
• Support patient consultations and follow-up appointments
• Document findings using EMR systems
• Provide first-line clinical advice and refer to a medical practitioner when needed
• Collaborate with consultants, doctors, nurses and wider clinical team
• Support patient flow and appointment management in a busy clinic
• Follow governance, infection prevention and safety procedures
• Participate in audits and CPD
• Support on-call or out-of-hours cover as required
• Travel to other sites for training or cover
