Job summary

Fusion People is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor for a 12-month contract based in Teesside, Middlesbrough with flexibility for project-based or regional office work. The role demands strong leadership and extensive NEC contract experience. Rate: £650 per day umbrella (Inside IR35) or £450 per day PAYE.

Start ASAP. 37.5 hours per week. You will manage contracts and costs for infrastructure and civil engineering projects, oversee cost control, procurement, and risk with mentoring

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
• Chartered or in final stages of achieving professional membership of the RICS (or equivalent).
• Strong leadership, analytical thinking, industry knowledge and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Contract Administration: Administer NEC contracts, measure, record, value work unsupervised, and handle applications for payment and final accounts procedures.
• Cost & Financial Management: Use project accounting systems, monitor costs, and produce cost vs. value reconciliations (CVRs).
• Procurement & Supply Chain: End-to-end supplier procurement, supply chain management, and value-for-money assurance.
• Risk & Team Support: Identify and manage risk with the project team and mentor junior commercial staff.
