I'm currently working with a major UK infrastructure contractor who are looking to appoint a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join one of the country's most significant infrastructure projects.
This is a genuinely high-profile project involving the construction of a new road connection including a major tunnel beneath a key waterway. With a project value of more than £1bn, this is an opportunity to join a landmark project that will have a lasting impact on the regions transport network.
As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll take a lead role within the commercial function, managing a team of Quantity Surveyors and overseeing the commercial delivery of significant civils packages from the very beginning of the project.
You’ll be responsible for leading commercial and cost management activities, working closely with the Senior Commercial Manager and wider project team.
The successful Managing Quantity Surveyor will have significant commercial experience gained within major civil engineering, highways or infrastructure projects in the UK, together with the ability to lead a commercial team in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
There are plenty of MQS roles available, but opportunities to work on infrastructure projects of this scale are considerably less common.
If you're an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager with a strong civils/infrastructure background and solid NEC experience, this could be an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your career and work on a project that will be talked about for decades.
