Job summary

Mane Contract Services is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join the Overhead Lines Commercial Team and support major infrastructure projects. You will drive profitability, manage risks and support project teams while liaising with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.

The role focuses on NEC3/NEC4 contracts, subcontract management and robust commercial reporting, with emphasis on timely documentation and risk mitigation across large utility schemes.

Qualifications

• Qualified Quantity Surveyor with relevant commercial experience.
• Experience on infrastructure, utilities or major projects.
• Knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 and contract law.
• Experience in subcontract management, valuations, variations and claims.
• Strong IT skills with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Commercially astute with understanding of project costs.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial reporting, forecasting, cost/value reconciliation and project profitability.
• Monitor project risks and maintain effective commercial risk registers.
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including valuations, variations, claims and final accounts.
• Support the management of compensation events, delays, variations and contractual claims.
• Prepare commercial reports, records and documentation, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Attend project and commercial meetings and provide effective commercial support to project teams.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual requirements and HSEQ policies.

About You

• Qualified Quantity Surveyor with relevant commercial experience.

• Knowledge of the Electrical Transmission / Overhead Lines sector is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of NEC3/NEC4, contract law and commercial management.
• Experience in subcontract management, valuations, variations and claims.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent IT skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Commercially astute with a strong understanding of project costs and profitability.
