A highly successful, ambitious, and growing manufacturing business in Norfolk is seeking an experienced Managing Director to lead it through an exciting phase of planned growth and transformation. With a modern, state-of-the-art facility and a loyal, diverse customer base, the business is exceptionally well positioned for the next stage of its journey.

This is a confidential search for an exceptional leader with a proven track record in manufacturing. The successful candidate will be responsible for evolving and diversifying the business while building trust with employees, customers, investors, and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape and execute the company’s strategic growth plan in partnership with the leadership team
  • Oversee day-to-day operations across sales, marketing, supply chain, and production, ensuring efficiency and commercial performance
  • Drive product innovation, service development, and market expansion
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities and partnerships within the sector
  • Inspire and lead a high-performing team, maintaining a collaborative, inclusive, and values-led culture
  • Champion succession planning, career development, and employee growth
  • Strengthen relationships with customers, suppliers, investors, and other stakeholders

The Ideal Candidate Will Bring:

  • Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing environment, with a strong commercial focus
  • Outstanding stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities
  • A track record of leading organisations through significant change, including acquisitions and/or successful exits
  • A people-first, low-ego leadership style, with the visibility, energy, and hands-on approach to engage teams at all levels
  • Strategic agility, with the ability to respond to evolving market needs and customer demands
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience managing budgets, cash flow, and investor relations
  • Ideally, strong ties to Norfolk or the surrounding area to support a regular presence at the facility
